Dallas: Israel_Palestine Dialogue

Two Public Events

1. Do U.S. Policies Fuel Islamophobia? Sunday, 1-3:30 PM
2. The Holy Land: Interfaith Perspectives – Friday, 7-9:30 PM

Although Sri Lanka, Ireland, Koreas, Nicaragua and Israel-Palestine have been the hotspots in affecting the world equilibrium (peace), Middle-East issue has affected the most internationally, Jews and Muslims in particular. I believe, if we can handle this one item with integrity, half of the problems of the world may fade away.

Most of us are blessed with information from one-side or the other, to be completely blessed, it is necessary for us to know both sides of the issue, so at least in our minds we can preserve our integrity. Finding the truth is one’s own responsibility and the truth always brings salvation.

I don’t know about the speakers, neither have I read their books or their work, I am simply attending the event, and Invite you to join, so we can learn with an open mind and an open heart. You will get a chance to speak up if any one is not telling the facts, our goal should be to hear the whole truth and nothing but truth.

“Because we all share this planet earth, we have to learn to live in harmony and peace with each other and with nature. This is not just a dream, but a necessity.”-Dalai Lama. We do not have to do this because God wants us or it is a big noble thing, we have to do it because co-existence is a necessity, so we can live our life free of tensions. Each one of us who is aware of the situation and talks about it, owes it to the Israeli and Palestinian Children to give them security and hope respectively.

Peace is in our hearts and minds, when we free ourselves from hate and ill-will; we can harvest good will in us, and then produce it for the world.

May God open our hearts and minds for our own good to begin with.

• Provide better understanding of negative impact of “Islamophobia”, or fear & hatred of Islam & Muslims, resulting in anti-Muslim bigotry
• The U.S. Government’s actions in the Holy Land Foundation case
  Guest Speakers:

Parvez Ahmed: Dr. Parvez Ahmed is national board chair of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Ahmed is a professor of Finance at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. He also serves as a board member for OneJax, formerly the National Conference on Community Justice (NCCJ).

Susan Abulhawa: Susan Abulhawa is the founder of Playgrounds for Palestine and author of the recently-released novel “The Scar of David.”

Lawrence Davidson: Lawrence Davidson is a professor of Middle East history at West Chester University in West Chester, Penn. He is author of “America’s Palestine: Polular and Official Perceptions from Balfour to Israeli Statehood,” “Islamic Fundamentalism” and co-author with Arthur Goldschmidt of “A Concise History of the Middle East.”
